29th-31st

So after the long adventurously learning new job filled with new peeps I headed out Monday morning to Melbourne. To get there, luckily I'm back on the bike, I have to ride from my place, Daylesford, to Ballan which is around 34km to hope on the V/Line train to Southern Cross, the heart of Melbourne, which takes an hour one way. Pretty easy eh? Takes about 45 minutes if I'm looking to hold 34+km/hr on semi hilly roads with barely any room between me and semi-truck wind tunnel, which surprisingly I did.
Got into Melbourne on a perfect sunny day and navigated to the windsor area going towards traffic sometimes, driving or riding on the left side of the road is starting to come along.
Hung out for a bit and took a two hour nap then went out to a really cool restaurant off church street, chapel turns into church street when you start to head away from windsor and go over the bridge, called Baby.
Baby is a nice light healthy italian restaurant featuring a really cool hip atmosphere with a cool bar that surrounds the dessert/prep area and also if your farthest from the door you get an amazing view of the whole place. The waiter was some italian guy who didn't really now anything, didn't care, but the regional pastry girl soon to be married super cute rockin personality was fun to talk to, didn't get a name because she was very indulged with some friends who came in but I'll be back to find out, another friend in the industry of a new country would be a relief.
Went to bed and woke up for some early poker action at the Crown Casino just right down the street from Southern Cross. Same thing hundred in went up and down till I said 150(50+) is good, I'm happy to make anything when I'm sinking my teeth into some table learning in person play with some old Auzzzeee blokes who were having a good laugh with a young turd.
Back on the bike, love the grinding momentum connection like its apart of me, to get back for some Marco I move my hands like a blind orchestrator every time I talk to a group, maybe a kings speech impediment growing up?, Pierre pulled back ratty scary grinch clown looking hair White and his flaming chest tie fat faced lover Matt Preston judging on Masterchef: The Professionals. God that was long. Masterchef is similar to Iron Chef but an Aussie dealio which has pretty cool cook offs and reinventions of old dishes, I still prefer Chopped on the Food Network though.
Hit the bed and woke up for a nice chill morning and smooth ride back to Southern to meet a new friend named Taz who lives in Geelong, Melbourne and Yay, pretty interesting! Had a good convo then headed off back for that 34km bike ride to see if the way TO Daylesford was going to be better or worse and it was actually faster considering it had more hills than downs? Very amazing views of the countrysides yellow plains and green patches of trees.
Ate some food till fill up all the resources that were drained and went back to work for a good 8 hours, which felt like the next day. To waking up and cleaning the whole place because it was a complete mess of things which i found a haxman or hangman or handman spider that is hugeee hiding underneath the dirty ass cobwebbed mop left outside. Put the spider in a jar, poked holes in the top lid of course, and went to work for another good shift of 8 hours while it poured outside, moved my bike into the shed if your wondering, and learned the bar side of things and how to make the perfect coffee.
Came back and found a huge moth for my hugeee spider which I'm going to release tomorrow, but prob think he was happy to be caged for a warm night rather than being pee'd on the thunderously crazy windy sky?
Laying in bed wiredly tired....

Some thoughts I had during this past couple of days:
If you could shoot for the stars, would you wanna go farther? Isn't anything possible?
Your body is a temple, your temple, your life, everything connected to you, so why give it to someone you don't even know? Why poison it with addictive mind/body destroying drugs, sugar carbohydrate alcohol, high fructose corn syrup dyed soda, and or unnecessary highly preservatived foods that it can't break down?
Love everyone even if they are incapable to love!
Tell everyone you know thank you for being who you are!

My quote:
Don't just dream, live it!

21st-28th of January

Been lagging on photos and not been getting much sleep but all i know is that this last week has been adventurously crazy and utterly filled with so much ground being covered, new information being completly funneled into my brain, and many new faces that i finally slept for 12 hours straight and still woke up wanting more but my mind is still on the hunt for new horizons new roads new views and new ideas in my brain to be drawn out into the reality of my life!
Got into Melbourne on the 21st and went over to windsor, which is a good twenty minutes from southern cross station, main train hub in the city similar to gare du nord, which is next to chapel st, super cool street filled with restaurants to bars and all night clubs, past the arenas which got me into going to watch some round play live at Rod Laver Arena, which was hosting knunetsova who beat caroline wozniaki, azarenka who defeated some random girl, and jo willy songa from france who defeated richard gasquet from france as well. The mens play was outstanding because they play at such a high velocity of power compared to the girls who moan and groan like they're hiding something.
Then we, me and tracy Shortle, a friend i worked with at Cucuna Enoteca, went out to this japanese teahouse on chapel street which has amazing food and tea with cute quotes saying rive rong and prasper written as shown on the menu to a japanese guy dressed in a suit looking like a danced pose pouring tea out of a tea pot on the ground while giving you this funny smile of yeaaa.
Then I went to bed and the next day we headed to the city by train to walk around the streets which has an artist who was making names out of metal wires to form necklaces and bending the same kind of wire to form mini bicycles, scorpions, and spiders. Deciding to be a tourist for once we headed to the aquarium, I dislike tourists, aquariums, and zoos because I love animals when they're in their own habitat living happily from day day struggles with mother nature rather than in a tiny box strangling them from migrating thousands of miles to bread or feed.
After that goodness of being filled with sadness we walked out and arrived at the crown casino which is almost as big as South coast plaza or a mile long architecturally warped warehouse filled with really nice shops, Louis V., Dior, and many more, a huge poker room :), 2.5 dollar roulette tables, some twenty one tables, and a nice fat filling food court. Played 20 dollars on roulette and went down to 5 then up to 35 then back to twenty, left after being safe. Don't really like the casino games because if your not feeling it you'll lose and if your feeling it your more susceptible to losing so we headed down to the poker room where patience is key and something I feel a little more confident playing. Played a hundred and within 20 minutes, patience isn't usually this quick, caught quad queens for a nice double up and then didn't want to make tracy wait so we bounced over chapel and ate at yellowbird, semi ok mexican food.
The next day, 23rd, I woke up for a nice 6 mile jog around town and down chapel street which ended with some nice stairs overhanging Dadenong road.
Packed up all my gear and headed back out to southern cross to rail my way to Ballan, which is 20mi to Daylesford, a small beautiful spread out town an hour away from Melbourne that has huge patches of yellow grass plains with small ti sometimes large patches of green trees.
The reason coming to this town was to work, applied online at taw.com.au (Travelers at work), at the Lake House, an amazing restaurant and hotel that sits on the water of the lake. This place is owned by three amazing people, Alla, Allan Wolf-Tasksr and their daughter Laresa. Alla is a two hat award winning lady chef who seems to bring not only taste in a dish but fucking geniusly magnificent character that comes out of the plate with combinations perfectly tied together bringing balance to each organic, sustainable, and biodynamic component. Allen,on the other hand is Alla's husband who is the artist, imagination, behind the place whom has many cool paintings, including one that has a creepy french looking man dipping his nose in a wine glass showing you how it smells and the architecture of the hotels rooms overlooking the lake. Laresa is the marketing of the whole place and is similar to the president of operations making sure everything runs smoothly.
The 24th was my first day at the LH and I headed out to Ballarat, another small BFE town 44km away from Daylesford, to get some work clothes which turned up into getting a brand new Felt F83 for 700 Australian quid till now. So far I've restaurant I've learned everyones names, FOH (front of house) and BOH (back of house) including all hotel staff, all the entrées, mains, most desserts, where everything is and which tables is which with seat positions, and all in the while of having fun learning how to make the perfect coffee. Although the hours are longer than eight I'm enjoying every single one and can't wait for the day i train someone.
Also moved into the staff house that has been housing three really cool people, Diego from Bogota, Tim the mad Tasmanian surfer, and Pika chu Pokemon Rachel from South Korea.
For now enjoy yourself and help someone out for good will return to you in another form.
